Ossipee Ship Passport, 1801-1802.

The Ship Ossipee was captained by Benjamin Hutchings; it was built in Saco, Maine in 1800, mounted with one gun and sailed with ten men aboard in 1801; in 1802 it was mounted with five carriage guns and navigated with 12 men. The passport number is 627; J. Waters, Jr. in the District and Port of Boston and Charlestown, signed the back of the pasport on June 1, 1802 after the declaration of the number of guns and men aboard. Transcriptions of the passport are included in the collection.
